YOUR Why
The objective of the Director of Continuous Improvement is to lead and oversee the development and implementation of strategies, Lean Six Sigma initiatives, and processes that drive continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will be responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvement, identifying, and analyzing operational inefficiencies, conducting fact-based analysis and problem solving by leveraging data analytics to optimize organizational performance and achieve strategic objectives. Additionally, you will play a key role in driving process excellence, enhancing data quality and governance, and providing actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership for informed decision-making.
How YOU Will Spend YOUR Days
Identify, analyze, and prioritize operational inefficiencies and bottlenecks, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute improvement initiatives.
Act as a key driver for change within the business units aligned to supporting project execution and toll-gating and helping them to learn, understand, adjust and grow with the business Lean Six Sigma transformation.
Utilize data analytics and statistical methods to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can drive operational efficiencies, cost savings, and improved performance across various business functions.
Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of continuous improvement efforts, providing regular reporting and analysis to senior leadership.
Act as a key driver for change within the business units aligned to supporting project execution and toll-gating and helping them to learn, understand, adjust and grow with the business Lean Six Sigma transformation.
Mentor Project Managers on Lean Six Sigma and general project management skills.
Structures identified business challenges logically.
Ensure disciplined, data-driven, well-documented approaches to improving end-to-end operational performance.
Quantify impact of projects on financials, productivity, customer experience and compliance.
Promote a risk-aware culture; ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
Recognize when there are obstacles preventing others from achieving their goals and readily intervenes and finds resourceful ways to remove them.
What YOU Bring
Continuous Improvement Methodologies: Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, especially Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Agile. Ability to apply these methodologies to identify process inefficiencies and drive improvement initiatives.
Process Excellence: Experience in process mapping, process optimization, and standardization. Knowledge of tools and techniques such as value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and process documentation.
Project Management: Ability to plan, organize, and lead projects related to continuous improvement and data analytics. Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools to ensure successful project delivery.
At least 7 years of experience in Lean Six Sigma and/or related continuous improvement areas. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or similar certification required.
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, presentation and organization skills.
Ability to communicate with all levels of staff, management, and senior leadership to effect change, report progress, and influence without direct power.
Proven ability to work in ambiguity.
Highly motivated to take ownership and drive initiatives with minimal direction.
Capacity to think strategically and innovatively.
Location: Houston or Austin, TX - onsite position
Compensation: $150k - $155k per year
