This role is INTEGRAL to the fast-paced Single Events team of one of our clients! If you possess a JD from an accredited law school and are licensed to practice law in Texas, this is for YOU! The ideal candidate will have STRONG experience in team leadership and personal injury law.
YOUR Why
This role will lead and mentor a small team of attorneys and case analysts, as well as manage the day-to-day operations of the Single Event group. The Managing Attorney will serve as a team resource providing counsel on a variety of legal issues relevant to our client’s resolution of client liens. The position will require the candidate to monitor and review emerging case law and promptly disseminate relevant data to the team for use in resolution of subrogation files. Strong oral and written advocacy skills and negotiation tactics are critical to the role.
How YOU Will Spend YOUR Days
Lead and mentor a team of attorneys and case analysts
Hiring, training, coaching, and ongoing development of the team including one on one meetings, mid-year, and annual reviews, etc.
Assist with the development of training documents and onboard training of new hires.
Monitor and review emerging case law and promptly disseminate relevant data to staff.
Serve as a staff resource through interpretation and application of regulations, case law, state and federal laws as well as review of complex health plan contracts.
Monitor and possibly maintain lien docket through continual review of each client file.
Foster positive relationships with client firms through responsiveness and proactive communication.
Through the use of innovative arguments, negotiate the best possible reduction of complex lien files.
What YOU Bring
5-7+ years of team leadership experience (managing attorneys and broader legal teams).
Current procedural and substantive law, as well as Federal and State rules.
Experience in single event/ personal injury law.
Experience Medicare benefit preservation knowledge (a plus).
Experience drafting complex arguments and negotiations.
Familiarity with laws concerning insurance policy interpretation.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with case management software, and billing databases.
Healthcare claims processing, billing, ICD codes.
Application of analytical skills in addressing complex legal issues.
Advanced legal research, Westlaw, LexisNexis.
Advocacy skills and negotiation tactics.
Multitasking in a high-volume environment.
A high degree of organization.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
Strong judgment and decisiveness during verbal negotiations.
Analyze and interpret large amounts of information.
Independent prioritization of workload, and ability to coach teammates on their workload prioritization.

Compensation: $90k - $100k per year
