Project Manager

Location:

Multiple Cities

Status:

Permanent - Remote

Looking for a Project Manager role that goes beyond timelines and task lists? Our client in the legal services industry is hiring a Project Manager to work at the intersection of business operations and technology, leading complex initiatives from discovery through implementation. We’re looking for a curious, proactive problem-solver who knows how to turn complexity into forward momentum. If that's you, apply today!

YOUR Why

Are you the kind of Project Manager who wants to understand why something needs to happen - not just manage the timeline for getting it done? Our client is looking for a Project Manager who can operate at the intersection of business operations and technology. You’ll work across the organization to learn how the business works, build trusted relationships, understand operational challenges, and help turn those needs into technology-enabled solutions.

This is not a traditional IT Project Manager role. You won’t spend your days running development sprints or managing software engineers. Instead, you’ll partner closely with both operational and technology teams, learning the business well enough to translate between the two and drive complex projects forward. You’ll step into an environment where priorities can change, requirements may evolve, and the answer isn’t always obvious. If you’re curious, proactive, comfortable with ambiguity, and energized by figuring things out, you’ll have the opportunity to make an immediate impact.

How YOU Will Spend YOUR Days

  • Own complex projects from discovery and requirements gathering through implementation, testing, adoption, and go-live.

  • Work across various departments to understand how processes connect and what the business needs to accomplish.

  • Learn the business deeply enough to understand the why behind the work, anticipate needs, ask better questions, and earn credibility with stakeholders.

  • Build strong relationships across the organization and use those partnerships to gather information, gain alignment, resolve blockers, and keep projects moving.

  • Take ambiguous or evolving business needs and turn them into clear project plans, requirements, priorities, owners, timelines, and next steps.

  • Proactively recognize when a project is at risk of missing the mark, investigate what is happening, and bring forward solutions rather than simply escalating problems.

  • Lead new client implementations and support internal and external stakeholders throughout the implementation process.

  • Partner closely with the Technology team to translate operational needs into clear technology requirements and ensure solutions support the way the business actually works.

  • Develop a strong working knowledge of the client’s proprietary AI-enabled platform, including how it supports and delivers value to clients. Become familiar enough with the platform to recognize patterns, anticipate potential issues, ask the right questions, and help coordinate solutions when results aren't meeting expectations.

  • Help drive ongoing platform implementations and new use cases by understanding expected results, identifying when the platform may not be surfacing the right information, and working with the appropriate teams to determine why.

  • Learn how prompts, requirements, source data, and workflows influence AI results and help refine those inputs to improve the quality and usefulness of the information produced.

  • Coordinate technology-enabled initiatives involving system integrations, APIs, data delivery, document processing, workflow improvements, and other business systems.

  • Understand APIs from a project and business perspective, including what data needs to move, how it is being delivered, what requirements must be defined, and how to recognize and follow up when an integration fails. You will not be expected to build APIs.

  • Manage project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, action items, and deliverables while adjusting quickly as business needs change.

  • Work with internal teams, external clients, vendors, and consulting partners to maintain accountability and drive successful delivery.

  • Support client demos, implementation conversations, and sales efforts as you develop expertise in the client’s solutions.

  • Communicate progress, risks, decisions, and next steps clearly to stakeholders and leadership.

What YOU Bring

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience with a demonstrated track record of successfully delivering complex, cross-functional projects.

  • Experience working between business/operational teams and technology teams, with the ability to understand both perspectives and translate between them.

  • A genuine desire to learn the business - not just the project - and understand the processes, people, and business objectives behind what you're delivering.

  • Proven success working in environments where requirements change, priorities shift, and there isn't always an established playbook.

  • The autonomy and judgment to determine what needs to happen next without waiting for someone else to provide every answer.

  • A curious and proactive mindset. You ask questions, investigate issues, anticipate needs, and speak up when something doesn't look right.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to establish credibility with internal stakeholders, external clients, vendors, and technology partners.

  • Strong Project Management fundamentals, including planning, requirements gathering, milestone and dependency management, risk identification, stakeholder communication, and implementation.

  • Enough technical fluency to understand how systems, data, APIs, integrations, and technology-enabled workflows work at a functional level without needing to personally build them.

  • The ability and willingness to become a knowledgeable user of AI-enabled technology, understand expected outputs, identify when results aren't right, and help determine how requirements, prompts, data, or workflows may need to change.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to look beyond the immediate issue and understand what may be causing it.

  • Experience managing third-party vendors, consultants, or external partners.

  • Experience using a project management, workflow, or ticketing system. Experience with Jira is helpful, but the specific tool is less important than your ability to learn and effectively use one.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with business leaders, operational teams, technology partners, and clients.

  • A demonstrated history of delivering measurable results and the ability to explain how you achieved them.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience leading new client implementations, business transformation, process improvement, or technology-enabled operational initiatives.

  • Experience working in a professional services, consulting, claims administration, legal services, insurance, healthcare administration, financial services, or similarly complex business environment

  • Experience working with AI-enabled business tools, prompt refinement, intelligent document processing, workflow automation, or other emerging technologies.

  • Familiarity with API integrations, data delivery, data migration, SaaS platforms, or system integrations from a project delivery perspective.

  • Experience working in an organization that combines technology with operational or managed services delivery.
