Join our client’s team as a Senior IT Applications Specialist to play a critical role in supporting and optimizing the technology that powers its human resources operations. In this role, you’ll provide advanced support for business-critical HR applications across development, testing, and production environments, ensuring system reliability, performance, and user satisfaction. You’ll partner with end users, vendors, and internal teams to troubleshoot issues, support system implementations, and drive continuous process improvements. This position offers the opportunity to take on a lead role within the application support team, guiding day-to-day activities, contributing to IT projects, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures while delivering high-quality, enterprise-level support.
How YOU Will Spend YOUR Days
Install applications in the development and system test environments for Development and UAT testing.
Perform system administration by writing utilities and monitoring information technology services.
Provide technical support and maintenance of installed application software.
Assist end users with implementation, configuration, and testing of new product versions.
Interact with end users and software vendors to troubleshoot installation and implementation issues.
Develop and maintain detailed technical knowledge of product specifications, operation, and diagnostics.
Organize, produce, and report on progress of ongoing testing, trials, and evaluation of new products/services.
Conduct orientation to new users regarding software applications.
Function as a key point of user contact and customer service for business systems, and be accountable for user satisfaction.
Assist in the execution of large and small IT projects.
Actively support the applications system and collaborate with the Service Desk team to resolve problems and incidents.
Act in a Lead role for the Application Support team. Help team tactically execute day-to-day responsibilities and assist where needed.
Less than 5% travel is required.
What YOU Bring
Professional Experience & Technical Foundation:
8+ years supporting enterprise applications, systems integration, and administration. Specific experience with UKG Pro is required; additional experience with ADP Workforce Now, iCims, or Relias LMS is helpful.
Experience with business-critical systems and operational workflows.
Strong knowledge of relational databases, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Hands-on experience with SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, and light scripting (PowerShell, VB, T-SQL).
Systems Support & Administration:
Ability to install, configure, and maintain Tier II and enterprise-level application components.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve user issues (e.g., transaction failures, system performance, end-user support).
Can ensure stability and performance of day-to-day system operations.
Problem Solving & Analytical Thinking:
Ability to analyze complex issues and develop solutions without predefined playbooks.
Ability to identify problems, gather data, define requirements, and recommend solutions.
Will apply strong critical thinking to both technical and business challenges.
Business Acumen & Compliance:
Strong understanding of business processes, transactions, and system workflows.
Knowledge of HR principles (as applicable).
Understanding of IT General Controls (ITGC) and operating within compliance frameworks.
Financial awareness and ability to interpret business data.
Leadership, Collaboration & Execution:
Ability to take on lead responsibilities and support team execution.
Skilled at prioritizing and managing multiple demands under tight deadlines.
Experience working in collaborative, team-oriented environments.
Strong communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
Customer-focused mindset with a focus on value creation and adaptability in ambiguous environments.

Compensation: $86k - $113k per year
