The Senior Tax Manager – Settlement Fund Compliance will take the lead in ensuring flawless federal & state compliance for qualified settlement funds (QSFs), partnering closely with our client’s India-based tax team to deliver accurate 1099s, tax returns, & estimated payments. This role is hands-on & high-impact, driving resolutions directly with the IRS, navigating complex tax requirements, & applying deep expertise in U.S. federal tax law. You’ll also jump in on additional tax & accounting projects, making this a critical role for someone ready to own compliance from end to end.
How YOU Will Spend YOUR Days
Oversee & manage the Tax Compliance processes of the 468B QSFs, ensuring deadlines & filing requirements are met.
Liaise with the India-office Tax Manager to ensure processes & procedures are in place to remain in compliance with all relevant tax regulations, including 1120SF Federal Tax Return Filings, estimated payments, 1099s, & state filings as required.
Engage with the IRS to resolve issues in QSF tax-related matters (must obtain a CAF #).
Advise QSF internal & external clients on QSF tax planning matters & fund closures.
Establish & implement procedures to ensure proper handling of deductible expenses based upon contract terms for QSF entities.
Recommend enhancements to the design & contribute to the implementation of QSF Accounting controls, policies, & procedures.
Enforce documented system of accounting policies, procedures, & internal controls.
Manage special financial & tax projects.
Ensure quarterly & annual goals & objectives are on track & achieved for assigned areas.
What YOU Bring
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
6+ years’ Federal tax compliance experience is required.
Strong 468B Trusts tax compliance & multi-unit tax compliance experience is a plus.
Proven experience successfully managing projects to completion.
2+ years’ experience working directly with the IRS to resolve tax issues.
Strong accounting background with experience completing complex reconciliations.
2+ years’ experience monitoring regulation updates & implementing related changes.
Working knowledge of QuickBooks, NetSuite, & UltraTax CS is a plus.
Location: 100% onsite in Dallas, TX - local candidates only!
Compensation: $130k - $140k per year + 10% bonus
