In this role, you’ll develop and manage a portfolio of new and existing commercial clients (focused heavily on C&I deals), identifying opportunities to deliver tailored banking solutions while building long-term partnerships that support their business growth. We’re looking for a relationship-driven professional who can effectively cross-sell a range of banking products and services while maintaining a strong focus on credit risk management and regulatory compliance. This role requires cultivating relationships with business owners and key centers of influence in the local community, while managing a commercial portfolio with credit needs exceeding $500,000. Success in this position means balancing strategic business development with disciplined portfolio management to generate meaningful client impact and drive fee-based income aligned with the bank’s strategic goals and objectives.
How YOU Will Spend YOUR Days
Maintain a strong prospect list, actively calling in the community to successfully gain clients by offering creative solutions and working with partners throughout the bank, tailored to meet the needs of the prospect.
Participate in community organizations, events, and business development programs to market the bank.
Identify and develop profitable banking credit and treasury management account relationships to successfully onboard full relationships.
Responsible for proper pre-qualification by analyzing requests, then assisting in the development of structures and negotiation of loans and/or agreements to include the terms, pricing, covenants, special conditions, and interest rates for commercial accounts.
Present credit facilities to the approving officer and oversee the loan documentation and closing process.
Strengthen and manage existing account relationships and loan portfolios through monitoring financial statements, covenants, borrowing bases, maturing loans, and past dues to ensure that risk is properly evaluated and managed in an appropriate and timely manner to ensure profitable growth of the account.
Provide support in the management of complex loan portfolios as the first line of defense to mitigate risks.
Maintain strong knowledge of banking products and services to cross-sell, as well as knowledge of the industries or market areas served. Keep abreast of current developments and market trends to further identify and service the customer’s needs.
Collaborate and coordinate with internal and external business partners to ensure banking products and services are provided promptly and support the profitable growth of the relationship.
Maintain current knowledge and follow all bank financial and security regulations and procedures.
What YOU Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial banking or commercial lending, including relationship and portfolio management with business clients.
Strong credit analysis and loan underwriting knowledge, including the ability to interpret financial statements, cash flow analysis, and risk assessment for commercial loans.
Experience structuring both C&I and CRE commercial loan transactions, including negotiating terms, pricing, covenants, and conditions.
Proven business development and relationship management skills, with experience building and maintaining client portfolios and prospecting new clients.
Knowledge of banking regulations, lending policies, and compliance requirements applicable to commercial banking.
Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to present credit recommendations and build trust with business clients.
Ability to collaborate with internal partners such as treasury management, credit, and operations teams to deliver comprehensive banking solutions.
Location: Onsite position in Denver, CO (in the Denver Tech Center or River North)
Compensation: $125k - $190k per year
